To
those who are interested in history and culture we suggest:
RIETI
Rieti is known as the capital of the Sabines and today still
conserves a monumental town wall from the XI Century, a
beautiful Communal Palace which lies close to the Prefecture
Palace and a splendid Duomo with a Romanesque campanile.

CONTIGLIANO
Contigliano is a typical medieval village crowning the top
of a hill.
The centre consists of buildings from the 14th
and 15th century and is a network of narrow
alleys where time has not gone by. Here you can find the
beautiful collegiate church San Michele Arcangelo.

GRECCIO
This
charming village, surmounted by the beautiful campanile of
the church San Michele Arcangelo, is above all well-known
for the Franciscan monastery after which the village was
named. In the “Valle Santa” (holy valley) of Rieti at its
four cardinal points you can find four Franciscan
monasteries (Greccio, Poggio Bustone, La Foresta, Fonte
Colombo), you can also visit the four sanctuaries going on the
pilgrimage “Cammino di Francesco”.

LABRO
A beautiful medieval village with a Castle of the noble
family Nobili-Vitelleschi which can be visited upon request
to the family who still lives there.
ABBAZIA DI FARFA
One of the most important monuments of European Middle Ages. As a
matter of fact between the IX and XII Century, thanks to the
self-government granted by Carlo Magno
the Abbey extended its possessions to great part of the centre of
Italy.
